A review on selected herbal plants as alternative anti-diabetes drugs: chemical compositions, mechanisms of action, and clinical study

Herbal utilization, as an antidiabetes agent, is interesting topic to find acceptable herbal drugs decrease blood glucose levels. The aim of this review evaluate the potency selected medicines reduce levels and identify chemical compounds responsible for reducing glucose. mechanisms action different used might be also different. reduction by Aloe vera, Andrographis paniculata, Trigonella foenum-graecum through minimum 3 action, such increased GLP-1 secretion inhibited amylase, glucosidase, SGLT 2. While paniculata has more than 4 increasing GLP secretion, activating PPAR ɣ-receptor, inhibiting 2 but it did not inhibit DPP in diabetic patients.
